Forest & Lorene Olds Papers: Correspondence, 1953-1974
Most of this correspondence results from the Chief's official duties. A small amount of material covers the period Chief Olds was Second Chief of the Tribe. Included in the correspondence files are letters from a number of government officials, as well as letters from tribal members. Chief Olds often kept copies of letters he sent as well. The folder marked "Outgoing Correspondence" (Box 3, Folder 6) consists of spiral-bound notebooks that the Chief would often use in drafting letters before typing them. Also evidenced in these files is the Chief's search for records and historical information about the Miami Tribe throughout the nation.
Physical Description: 0.8 cubic feet (14 folders).
