Carmen Mary Ryan

Carmen Ryan is a descendent of Godfroy, Mongosa, and Pimyotamah. She was active in Miami affairs since childhood. Ryan attended the 1923 meeting held at Bundy's house that is considered the genisis of the Miami Nation of Indiana. She also participated in the Maconaquah Pageant and corresponded with the Miami living outside of Indiana to include them in tribal affairs. Carmen Ryan is regarded as a sophisticated and knowledgable of tribal history. She also worked as tribal historian for the Miami Nation of Indiana as well as assisted in compiling the 1964 tribal roll.
